Natalie Sakurai is a glass and mixed media artist whose multilayered work examines the contradictory themes of isolation and belonging. Her latest series, “Eye Contact,” explores the relationship between autism and social media. This series has garnered an honorable mention award from Dab Art’s 2014 International Juried Exhibition, and a coordinator award from Sebastopol Center for the Arts Juried Exhibition: Boundaries, 2016. Sakurai has shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout California, and been selected for national and international juried exhibitions in California and Colorado. She holds a BA in Art Studio and a BA in Interior Design, as well as a California Teaching Credential from California State University, Sacramento. She currently lives and works in Sacramento, CA.
